Melt my heart it's butter love!! I didn't grow up with a mother who cooked home cooked nurturing meals. It's been a huge growth edge for me to do that, and although I turned out to miraculously be a natural cook, the act of doing it all day everyday to feed my family was a big thing for me. It was hard to learn how to make it something other than an occasional success that I pulsated in and out of. But over the last few months it has become something so beautiful and dear to me, a rich form of service and love that feeds my family's bodies and hearts and mine too. My soul sister over in India gave me the most transformational words when she told me that watching her family eat the food she made was one of her favorite feelings. As simple and obvious to most people as that is, it just wasn't my training so it opened my eyes to see it that way. Now I look forward to cooking and continuing to grow with that. Now, hearts and love just show themselves in my kitchen! We all have our growth edges, we all come to our current life with a certain training, and much of that training can end up not serving us. But with intention we can move through into new experiences of ourselves and our lives. We can experience a new richness in our life. Witnessing some of our sisters facing some deep challenging times, from physical health to emotional work to relationship challenges, we see a lot of fear. But fear is normal, fear is ok, fear is even a healthy reaction to a serious thing happening. Resisting fear or forcing yourself to feel positive when your heart and body feels otherwise doesn't serve us. It puts guilt and pressure on us to feel something that isn't true. Let the fear come up and out, but don't pressure yourself to never feel it. Fearlessness is not the absence of fear. It's the act of moving through fear and learning how to unclutch and keep moving when fear contracts us.
